Park Stewardship LINC Kayaking Overnight

youth kayaking

Join us on April 6-7, 2013 for our second LINC School-Year Adventure: an overnight sea kayaking trip to Angel Island! With professional sea kayaking guides from Environmental Traveling Companions , we will paddle two- and three-person kayaks to Angel Island while enjoying dramatic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the San Francisco skyline, and the abundant marine wildlife of the bay. When we arrive on the island, we will stay overnight in a lovely and accessible Victorian house and cook on a wood-burning stove. No experience is necessary, and we encourage people of all abilities to paddle with us.

If you are between the ages of 14 and 19 and participate in any 3 volunteer programs in the Golden Gate National Parks (9 service hours) by April 6th, you can join us for this outdoor overnight adventure. Completion of the 3 volunteer programs is not required in order to sign up, but needs to be completed before the day of the trip. Use this volunteer log to track your hours and if you are a first time volunteer be sure to fill out a volunteer waiver first. Please sign up by March 23rd in order to reserve your spot.

Please bring a lunch that produces minimal waste for the first day, the rest of the meals will be provided. A suggested list of what to wear and bring will be sent to you once you sign up for this event. Also, please fill out this health release form and bring it with you.

We will meet at Building 34 S Fort Mason on Saturday April 6th 8:15 am and return to Fort Mason on Sunday April 7th around 4 or 4:30 pm.

If you would like to be picked up from Civic Center BART instead of meeting at Fort Mason, we will be doing a BART run outside of Civic Center BART 8am on Saturday morning. Be sure to notify us if you need a BART pick up in the questions section.

We are looking forward to seeing you out in the parks!
