Park Stewardship SFSU Workday, 4/13
A fantastic opportunity for San Francisco State University students!
Sign up for a volunteer day with Park Stewardship at Lands End and help restore important habitat for wildlife. This is your chance to get outside and enjoy the day while exploring, and learning about some of the most beautiful places in your city.
What's in store for you?
A group of fun and trained staff will provide you hands-on learning experience and some fascinating talks about the area. And of course, there's going to be lots of fun and rewarding work lined up for you and your friends!
The first volunteer program will be held on Saturday at Lands End from 1:30 - 4:00pm. We will provide all the tools and gear, and some delicious snacks too. All you need to bring is your spirit and enthusiasm!
In the future we might be able to work with some teachers or departments so that these workdays could be an opportunity for some to earn extra credit. However, at this time we have not coordinated with teachers to provide extra credit for this workday.
We will meet in the parking lot near trailhead: Search for “Merrie Way, SF, CA” in Google Maps, or use this link: http://goo.gl/maps/FCCY3. Or see information below about carpooling!
It is also easy to take public transportation to Lands End! The 18 and 38l bus both stop near the trailhead. In the future, our carpool van may not be available so getting to know how to get there by bus is great to learn!
If you need to cancel your registration, you must do so 2 days prior to the event date. Please contact Yakuta Poonawalla at Ypoonawalla@parksconservancy.org. By informing us of your cancellation you allow other students to attend.
We look forward to having a wonderful time with you! See you in the field!
