Location: Crissy Field Center
1199 East Beach
San Francisco, CA 94129
Before the 2001 restoration back to a wetland and
beautiful estuary, Crissy Field was also once a busy military airstrip, where
the U.S. Army performed its first Transcontinental Endurance test. And
with over 200 species of birds and 56 species of butterflies, the Presidio of
San Francisco has historically been one of the most diverse populations of
“things with wings” than any other national park. At this creative and playful
camp, discover what a healthy habitat is, how animals with wings survive in the
wild, and trek to the former airfield to capture your observations through an
artist’s eye. Come soar with us, this summer, in your local national park!
