Fifteen years after the opening of the restored Crissy Field, we are excited to let you know that the Golden Gate National Recreation Area recently received a grant of $2.5 million from the National Park Service Centennial Challenge program, which is being matched by donations from the Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Fund and members of the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy.

Together, this funding will support much-needed repairs along the Crissy Promenade and in the East Beach Parking Lot.  This National Park Service Centennial Challenge grant award is the largest in the country and recognizes the importance of repairing and maintaining this beloved trail corridor that provides recreation for over 1.2 million visitors each year.

Learn about the scope of repairs, which include drainage improvements, trail resurfacing and parking lot reconfiguration, and see the design drawings.

The work is anticipated to begin this coming fall and last several months.  As the work will occur along the Promenade from East Beach to the Warming Hut and at the East Beach Parking Lot, we would like to hear your ideas about how we can best minimize impacts to your use of the affected areas while we complete the work in a safe and timely manner.

We're sorry, the deadline for registering for this event has passed.
