Mt. Tam West Peak Hike - Rare Habitats of West Peak

Led by Rosa Schneider, One Tam & Naomi LeBeau , Parks Conservancy

Join One Tam and Parks Conservancy staff to explore West Peak and its environs as you learn more about the unique plants and plant communities that call West Peak and the mountain’s ridge tops home. We will meet at the Rock Springs parking area, and hike approximately 30 minutes up the Mountain Top trail to explore West Peak. Those interested in a longer hike can continue on with the hike leaders to complete an approximately 4 mile loop down the Arturo Trail and back the Bernstein Trail. Along the way, learn more about the physical properties that support these rare beauties, as well as the challenges and opportunities for their conservation.    .

Rosa Schneider is the Restoration & Community Science Program Manager for One Tam. She holds a Master of Science in Biology from San Francisco State University.

Naomi LeBeau is a Restoration Specialist with the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy.  Naomi has been working in restoration and botany for more than a decade, including recent work restoring serpentine habitat on the Presidio Bluffs.
