Basic Flight Identification Series (Thursday Sessions)
Golden Gate Raptor Observatory Headquarters

The Golden Gate Raptor Observatory (located in the Marin Headlands) has kindly set aside some seats for Park Academy, so that those who are interested can come to their Hawkwatcher training!

This three-part training will run the Wednesday and Thursday of each week, starting on July 19th and going through August 3rd. Participants can choose which day of the week works better for them to attend the full series (Wednesday or Thursday). This listing is for the Thursday run of the series, if you'd prefer to attend the series on the Wednesdays of each week you can register here >>

Here is the breakdown of the Thursday Sessions:

  • Thursday, July 20: Part I – Introduction & Buteos
  • Thursday, July 27: Part II – Eagles Harriers, Kites, Vultures, & Osprey
  • Thursday, August 3: Part III – Accipiters & Falcons

The series sessions will be held at GGRO Headquarters in the Headlands and will be taught by Step Wilson (Hawkwatch Manager). Please bring binoculars if you have them, something to write with, and something to write on to be able to write on the handouts (clipboard, book, portfolio, etc.).
