Introduction to LinkedIn and Creating a Résumé & Cover Letter to Get You in the Door!

This interactive session will be split into two parts: the first part, Introduction to LinkedIn, will go from 10:30-Noon, and the second part will start after a lunch break (lunch is provided!) and run from 1-4 pm. It is highly recommended that you attend both sessions. See below for descriptions:

Introduction to LinkedIn - 10:30–Noon
Heard about LinkedIn? Started an account and then forgot about it? Join Elizabeth Lindner (Program Manager, Internships & Service Initiatives) to learn how to use the professional social network with over 300 million members to your best advantage! She will cover the basics like how LinkedIn works, how to build an engaging profile, how to develop and connect with your network, and how to make LinkedIn work for you!

Creating a Résumé & Cover Letter to Get You in the Door! - 1–4 pm
This part will be taught by Elizabeth Lindner (Program Manager, Internships & Service Intiatives) and Jaimie Baxter (Associate Director of Park Stewardship). In this class they will describe characteristics of résumés  and cover letters that lead to an interview. Bring your in-progress résumés to class to get some pointers from the pros!

You are welcome to bring your laptops and also please bring your in-progress résumés and cover letters. As mentioned above lunch will be provided, there will also be light breakfast snacks, coffee, and tea.
