Soil Health Series: Composting Methods at Alcatraz Gardens!
Pier 33 (to start, then taking ferry to Alcatraz Island)

This workshop will focus on vermiculture or worm composting. Learn how easy it is to create your own worm box, and the amazing benefits of using compost in your home garden! Everybody who wants to will have the opportunity to make a small-scale worm bin to use at home. The cost to make a worm bin is $15-- please bring cash to the class.

Please plan to check in at Pier 33 (Alcatraz Landing) no later than 8 am to take the first ferry over to the island (map and parking link). Class will finish at 1 pm and participants can return to the Pier on any ferry--there is no charge for the return ferry (return ferry schedule here). Please dress for the variable weather of the island--bring water, sunscreen, and a hat.
