Dear Friend of the Parks,
MLK DAY: CELEBRATE & RESTORE YOUR PARKS!
“Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve.” –Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Date: Monday, January 17 Time: Various times Contact: (415) 561-3077 or volunteer@parksconservancy.org Event Details & Registration >
Kick off 2011 by pitching in on a momentous Martin Luther King Jr. Day! This coming Monday January 17 marks the 25th anniversary of MLK Day. Celebrate by using your day off as a “day on” and volunteer in your Golden Gate National Parks.
More volunteers are still needed--and you can make a difference!
We have projects scheduled at park sites in Marin, San Francisco, and San Mateo counties. Because it’s planting season, we’ll be doing a TON of planting! In addition, we will be weeding, mulching, hauling materials, maintaining trails, cleaning beaches, and more. It’s going to be a great day of park fun, community connection, and giving back to the parks that give our communities so much.
It’s easy to register and participate—just click here and sign up for a project.
See you in the parks,
Denise Shea Associate Director, Volunteer Management
